How does it all work?
Booking Made Simple
Booking, payment, and rescheduling are all taken care of through Book Like A Boss — no back-and-forth emails, no invoices, no payment reminders.
Simply choose a slot, pay securely by card, and receive your confirmation and Zoom link straight away.
Need to reschedule? Your confirmation email contains a direct link to do so. Lessons can be rescheduled up to 24 hours before the start time. Cancellations within 24 hours are charged in full.
Your Personal Notion Dashboard
Every student receives their own dedicated Notion workspace at the start of our work together — a single, organised hub shared with both student and parent throughout the year.
Inside, you'll find the lesson timetable and booking links, mark schemes and example essays, lesson notes and key resources, current and upcoming assignments, and a progress record tracking grades over time.
For students, it means everything they need is in one place — no chasing emails, no lost notes, no uncertainty about what to do before the next lesson.
For parents, you can see exactly where your child is in the course, what's been assigned, and how grades are progressing — at any time.
The dashboard is updated after every lesson, so notes, next steps, and progress are always current.
Feedback Designed For Continual Improvement
Get informative updates on progress with key metrics including raw scores attained, grade boundaries and quality of response to prior feedback.
All homework is marked by qualified independent examiners to take the guess work out of grading and to provide valuable insights to students.
We ensure both parents and students are crystal clear on performance, progress and next steps. Our system provides the clarity and direction needed for success at every level.
The Key To Success
Step 2: Syllabus Review
Step 1 - Assessing
Subject specific progress: mock results, in-class tests, feedback on school essays and content coverage.
Challenges experienced in improving grades: specific question types, difficult content, memorisation and exam technique.
Goals for University: subject choice, grade requirements and interviews.
General school details: upcoming tests, progress in other subjects and any other information that you think we should know.
Step 4: Weekly Assignments
Past paper questions assigned weekly to enable students to practice exam technique.
Assignments communicated to both parent and student via email (see samples in the next section of our website below).
Consolidate lesson progress and ensure deep understanding of the content.
Establish critical independent thought.
Detailed content coverage at school: review the relevant exam specification, ticking off all spec points covered.
Assess whether school are on track for exams: based on the percentage of the specification covered and point in the school year, extrapolate progress to see when school should be finished.
Highlight gaps in knowledge and areas of weakness: any areas that need particular attention, conditional on the needs of the individual.
Develop a plan to complete content comfortably before exams to allow for memorisation and exam practice.
Step 3: Group/Private Tuition Sessions
Zoom sessions to cover content and exam technique in detail.
Notion for collaboration (the best resource available for online tuition).
Use Google Docs for essays and notes to enable simultaneous editing of key documents.
Step 5: Feedback and Progress Tracking
Subject specific progress: mock results, in-class tests, feedback on school essays and content coverage.
Challenges experienced in improving grades: specific question types, difficult content, memorisation and exam technique.
Goals for University: subject choice, grade requirements and interviews.
General school details: upcoming tests, progress in other subjects and any other information that you think we should know.

Absolutely. Many students combine both one‑to‑one, and group sessions in the build up to exams. However, we do require that students stick with any group tuition booked for that half term - the groups are courses of approximately 10 weeks, designed to ensure a consistent group environment lesson-to-lesson.
-
Zoom - for all online calls.
Notion - to assign homework, track progress, provide invaluable resources and comprehensive summary of each lesson.
Google sheets - for progress tracking.
Email automation - to keep everyone in the loop.
-
Essays & Papers completed for HW are externally marked by an examiner and typically returned within 72 hours.
Students and parents received an annotated PDF and feedback summary via email.

75% of university applicants do not achieve their predicted grades according to a 2020 study. Final grades are typically lower, as teachers predict optimistically to avoid disadvantaging their students in the application process. So even if school are predicting top grades, it’s sensible to take predictions with caution.
Nonetheless, even the best students can benefit from tuition. We aim to push marks well above the A* boundary and teach essay & study principles that can be used at university and beyond. -
Yes, we offer several options for holiday intensives - please see ‘book lessons’ page in navigation bar for more details.

Students typically improve between 1 and 3% on assignment scores per session - these are primarily based on past paper questions. A bump of 10% equates roughly to one grade boundary. As a result, an improvement around 1-2 grades is typical per 10 lessons (assuming assignments are completed).
-
Early in the academic year, an essay or series of multiple choice questions is typical ~ 1 hour of work. As exams approach, we will progressively move towards full past papers. The official time constraint on these is ~ 1.5 hours, though early attempts are expected to take longer.
-
Yes, though we would recommend one-to-one sessions on a case-by-case basis. Our notes are available 24/7 for students to work through at their own pace.
Several current students with ADHD have moved up two grade boundaries since we began working together. -
Results are recorded within a Google sheet for reference at any time to enabling progress tracking.
-
Similar to 1-1s but just with a couple extra people! There will be a maximum of 5 students in total and it is a course of 10hrs over 10 weeks.
